Water Heater Repairs & Maintenance in Oxford

What is a water heater and How Does it Work?

A water heater is a device that heats up cold water and stores it as hot water. The heat is then used for household purposes like bathing, washing dishes, and cooking.

A typical water heater has a tank that holds the heated water, an electric element, a thermostat, also an outlet to release the hot water from the tank. The electric element heats up the cold water in the tank to provide hot water for use. The thermostat keeps the temperature of the hot water at about 120 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. 49 °C).

– Attach a length of hose to one side of the bottom edge, then use an open tube connected to your vacuum cleaner to direct water into that side while you drain out cold water on top.

– Attach the open ends of both lengths of hose to one end of the cylinder.

– Stretch and attach both water supply hoses to each end; attach an open tube near each corner and use it as a cross on the other side.
